The O formula is meant to serve as an adjunct tool to assist surgeons in selecting the appropriate intraocular lens for a particular patient. It is intended to be used in conjunction with a comprehensive ophthalmic examination and the appropriate diagnostic tests and measurements necessary for cataract surgery candidates being considered for an intraocular lens. The results obtained by the calculator are not intended to serve as medical or surgical instruction from the O formula research group, or be definitive; nor can O formula research group guarantee that the results will be accurate in every case. Surgeons who use the calculator must arrive at their own independent determinations regarding the proper treatment for their patients and are solely responsible for the refractive outcome.
By using the O formula IOL Power Calculator, you agree to indemnify and hold O formula research group and anyone connected to the use, construction or content of this website, harmless from any liabilities, costs, claims, damages, and losses which may arise directly or indirectly as a result of your use of this calculator whether in accordance with these terms or otherwise.
Copyright / Ownership
The O formula IOL Power Calculator is based on the intellectual property of O formula research group (Toru Noda, Tokyo Medical Center; Naoyuki Maeda, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine; So Goto, Tokyo Medical Center, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine; Kazuhiko Ohnuma, Laboratorio de Lente Verde; Tjundewo Lawu, VO Inc.). It is provided to the user for educational and internal business, including the user's clinical operations and purposes only. The user may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the O formula. The user may not adopt or modify, create derivative works, operate a service bureau or act as a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider based upon the O formula.
This agreement gives the user the right to access the O formula IOL Power Calculator and to use it for the limited purpose of performing iol power calculations for user's internal business, including the user's clinical operations and purposes only. These rights are no transferable or sublicensable, nor may the O formula IOL Power Calculator be reproduced, or modified without the express prior written consent of the O formula research group.
Data Protection
The O formula IOL Power Calculator complies with the Personal Information Protection Commision (PPC) Japan. No information entered into the formula is retained or used by the O formula research group. Users are advised to print a copy of the output and/or export to csv file for their records.
Changes to this Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice or change this Personal Information Protection policy at any time. Unless othervise indicated, updates to this Privacy Notice are effective immediately upon posting.
